We are a family-run Touring-Caravan and Camping site, on a working farm just outside Corfe Castle, on the southern coast of the beautiful county of Dorset – England. The site is open from 1st March to 31st October (weather permitting)
The camp-site is ideally situated for using local transport, with bus stops at the site entrance and the steam train to Swanage just a short walk away, which makes us the ideal base for exploring the isle of Purbeck. We are set back from the main road, but with easy access. The site is within 3/4 mile of the world famous village of Corfe Castle … the ancient town of Wareham is only 3 1/2 miles from us and we are only 15mins drive from Studland Bay and the seaside town of Swanage. There is a footpath leading directly to the village of Corfe and there you have 3 pubs along with several shops and the village bakery, and of course you can visit the ruins of Corfe Castle. For those that like to keep fit there are numerous cycling and walking routes directly off the camp-site and we allow campers on-site to access the top of the hill, from where they can enjoy panoramic views of the isle of Purbeck. Please read more details of nearby attractions here.
We are also pleased to be a “highly rated campsite” in the Isle of Purbeck by campsites.co.uk
The camp-site is set within a gorgeous valley and each of our fields have different views to offer. We have 3 adjacent level grass fields, all with electric hook up, and we also have an additional large grass field for tents in peak season. Our electric pitches are marked with two yellow posts to mark the boundaries and a number to indicate the middle of the pitch. We always allocate people to a particular electric pitch, and this is usually based upon what unit you have booked. We are happy to take requests but we cannot 100% guarantee specific pitches. Although we do not like the regimented feel this helps to ensure that units are at the advised 6m apart, for fire regulations.
“Top field” is our additional camping field that is only open during the peak season. Due to our license we can only allow tents or small camper-vans less than 5.5metres long in this 6 acre field. Once checked in campers are free to choose a pitch anywhere they like in this field, and they can enjoy some of the best views on-site here.
Please note that we are a grass field site and do not have hard standings at present.
The reception is open everyday and our staff are filled with local knowledge of where to go so please always come in ask. We always keep a great stock of local transport timetables and abundance of flyers of local attractions and of what’s on.
We have an “events field” and this is adjacent to the main site. At around 6 acres it’s spacious but not entirely flat. It also has access to water and 4 electric hook-up points. If you would like to enquire about holding an event or rally on-site, please contact us.
We have two large Facilities blocks on-site, so wherever you stay on-site you are never very far from one.
- Flush toilets and chemical disposal point
- Hot showers and private wash basins with shaver points (no tokens needed).
- Disabled toilet and wet room (ambulant or aided only)
- Separate laundry and washing-up rooms
- Pooch parlour – a wet room and warm shower for dogs
- Hair-dryers are provided & sockets for straighteners
Most of our facilities are free for campers to use (laundry facilities excepted).
We also have a fishing pond on site. It is solely for the use of campers and there is no charge. You may find Carp, Rudd, Tench or Bream in the pond which is just behind the 2nd shower block in Pond Field. The only rules are that you do not use a keep net or ground bait and only barb less hooks. We do not sell bait on site (only spam) but there is a fishing shop in Wareham just across the South Bridge about 3.5 miles away. There is a fence surrounding the pond with an access gate on 2 sides. We do ask that children be supervised by an adult in the pond area. It is not deep and there are ducks and other wild fowl that live on or near the pond.
Wifi is available throughout the site and access to it can be purchased in our shop or online.
We also have a charging facility for mobile phones, laptops and tablets in the shop and reception. A small fee applies.
Our farm shop incorporates our camp-site reception and is exceptionally well stocked to meet campers’ needs, with a gas exchange service (Calor – butane and propane, and Gaz only). We offer a freezer block service, using our own freezer blocks. We sell a wide range of food: groceries, local fresh produce, plus all camping goods and accessories alongside our mini garden centre. Generally through the camping season the shop is open everyday 8.30 – 6 and during most of the high season we are open 8 – 8! The farm shop is open all year round serving the local community with seasonal goods and a huge variety of other items. During the winter time we sell an array of livestock feeds, fuels & logs along with Christmas trees.
Not everyone likes to camp and so we offer several different accommodation types at Norden Farm, making this an ideal holiday base for everyone.
We have a traditional farm cottage that sleeps 4 located on the camp-site, with its own private garden. Norden House is located opposite the shop and is a large self-catering holiday home that sleeps up to 14 people. It is ideal for groups or large families to enjoy a holiday together, but having plenty of room for your own space.
We are a family site and welcome dogs, but ask that they be kept under strict control at all times. This site is strictly rural and may not be suitable for those who look for ready-made entertainment. You will encounter all the smells & noises of a genuine working farm, but on-site there is a relaxing laid back feel. During the high season this is a busy & large site, but still ideal for families. Depending on the time of year you may see young lambs & calves and we also have a farmyard area, and this will give an insight to what a real farm yard is like (this is free of charge so it may not look the same to a petting farm where you would pay for the entry). We ask that all children be supervised when visiting these areas.
